The History Of Pueo Builders...
Pueo Builders was born from legacy, grit, and the deep-rooted belief that excellence is built not just with tools, but with heart.
Founded by Shavon Silveira and Lani Loa Kane, Pueo Builders is more than a renovation company, it’s a reflection of generations of skilled craftsmanship, Hawaiian resilience, and the power of ʻohana.
Shavon grew up watching her father, a true kumu of the trades. Though a master mechanic by title, he was a force of nature when it came to building. Whether it was welding, masonry, painting, flooring, or carpentry, there was nothing he couldn’t fix, create, or improve. He didn’t just do the work, he lived it. And he passed all of it down to Shavon and her brother, never just teaching them with words, but by example, discipline, and integrity.
From a young age, Shavon proved to be a natural, especially when it came to problem-solving and math. She has a sharp mind for seeing the big picture while anticipating the details before they even arise. Her passion lies in being hands-on, figuring things out, and executing with precision. Her father’s legacy lives on through her, not only in skill but in the way she carries herself, with pride, humility, and aloha.
On the other side of this powerhouse partnership is Lani Loa Kane, whose journey began on construction sites alongside her own father, a seasoned General Contractor. Starting as a laborer, her father worked his way up to become a roofing master, then mastered the trades one by one as his company grew. Lani Loa watched and learned every step of the way. From laying shingles to balancing books, she gained firsthand experience in both the labor and leadership that it takes to build a business from the ground up. Her father passed down not only his trade skills, but also his entrepreneurial mindset and drive to succeed with purpose.
Together, Shavon and Lani Loa represent two strong lines of skilled, local builders who carry a rare blend of hands-on expertise and strategic insight. As Native Hawaiian women in a male-dominated industry, they bring a refreshing approach to residential renovations: one that values integrity, quality, and a deep respect for the land and the people they serve.
Whether it’s a kitchen that needs new life or a bathroom that needs new vision, Pueo Builders takes pride in building homes, and trust, one project at a time.
